How to Measure for a Wheelchair Ramp

Wheelchair ramps come in many materials. However,aluminum ramps are more efficient. Depending on your needs and your budget, suitcase ramps, modular ramps, and heavy duty wheelchair ramps will accommodate any medical setting.
Measuring for a wheelchair ramp is simple if you know what you are measuring for.
First, you will need to know the total rise you are climbing with the ramp. This is the total vertical height you need to climb (in inches). Remember to write these measurements down in a safe place for future reference.

For stairs, measure each stair and add them together.

For Vans, Minivans or other vehicles, measure from the ground straight up to the highest point inside the vehicle you will need to reach.
