First off, think of a medical
clinic as your home; each room serves a purpose and has items that are relevant
to that purpose. (e.g. Bedrooms have beds, your kitchen has a stove, bathrooms
have toilets, etc. ) A medical clinic is the same way. The simplest approach
would be to think about the flow of the clinic. Take out a pen and paper and
jot down the first items you notice when you walk into your own physician's
office.
Basically there are three areas (or
rooms, for the sake of the house illustration) to properly outfitting a medical
clinic: equipment , supplies, and the back office. The greatest variable, your clinic specialty,
would depend on the type of equipment you would have.Another factor to consider is new or used
equipment.Purchasing used medical
equipment could cut your costs in half-that's something to consider if you are
just starting. A very basic general practice would be set up like this:
Again,
this is a very basic set up for a general family practice. Just as the bedrooms
in your home;you need a bed and night table in each room. Each exam room will
need the some of the same equipment and supplies listed. You know, rinse and repeat.
